Book Fair in Bangladesh

Book fairs are a popular cultural event in Bangladesh, and there are several book fairs held throughout the year in various parts of the country. The most prominent book fair in Bangladesh is the Ekushey Book Fair, also known as Amar Ekushey Granthamela, which takes place annually in Dhaka during the month of February.

The Ekushey Book Fair is named after the Language Movement Martyrs Day, which is celebrated on February 21st in memory of the language activists who died during protests for the recognition of Bengali as a state language of Pakistan. The book fair is organized by the Bangla Academy, a national language and literature institute, and it is one of the largest book fairs in Asia.

During the Ekushey Book Fair, publishers from Bangladesh and other countries set up stalls to showcase and sell their books. The fair also features literary seminars, cultural performances, and book launch events. The fair attracts a large number of visitors, including students, academics, intellectuals, and book lovers from all over the country.
